Tour Overview

This slow-paced Himachal journey is curated for travellers who seek quiet forests, meaningful hikes, and lesser-known mountain villages. Beginning in the cedar-lined hamlet of Sojha near Jalori Pass, the route flows into the pristine Tirthan Valley and concludes in the secluded village of Sonaugi near Manali. With alpine lakes, heritage hikes, riverside leisure, and village trails, the itinerary offers a deep connection to nature while staying true to Infinite Journeys’ experience-led, unhurried Himalayan philosophy.

Tour Plan

  • Day 1 – Arrival in Sojha | Cedar Forests & Mountain Stillness
Arrive in Sojha at approx. 7,700 ft (2,347 m) and check in to your forest stay. The day is kept light to allow acclimatisation and relaxation. Enjoy quiet walks through deodar forests, mountain views, and the peaceful rhythm of this offbeat hamlet. Evening free for stargazing or reading by the fire. Dinner and overnight stay in Sojha.
  • Day 2 – Jalori Pass & Serolsar Lake Hike | Alpine Forest Trails
Drive to Jalori Pass (12 km | ~45 mins) reaching 10,800 ft (3,292 m). Begin the scenic hike to Serolsar Lake (moderate, 5 km one way), walking through oak and rhododendron forests. Spend time by the tranquil lake before descending and returning to Sojha by afternoon. Evening at leisure. Overnight stay in Sojha.
  • Day 3 – Sojha to Tirthan Valley | Into the River Valley
Depart Sojha for Tirthan Valley (35 km | ~1 hr). On arrival, check in and enjoy a relaxed riverside afternoon. Take gentle walks along the Tirthan River, known for its crystal-clear waters and forested banks. The day is intentionally slow, allowing time to unwind and absorb the valley’s calm atmosphere. Dinner and overnight stay in Tirthan.
  • Day 4 – Tirthan Valley | Chehni Kothi & GHNP Trails
Explore the cultural and natural highlights of Tirthan today. Begin with a short hike to Chehni Kothi, an ancient Himalayan tower set above traditional villages. Later, enjoy optional nature walks near the Great Himalayan National Park, rich in flora and birdlife. The remainder of the day is free for leisure, fishing, or riverside relaxation. Overnight stay in Tirthan.
  • Day 5 – Tirthan to Sonaugi | Hidden Village Escape
Drive from Tirthan to Sonaugi (130 km | 5–6 hrs), ascending into quieter mountain terrain near Manali. Arrive in Sonaugi at approx. 6,200 ft (1,890 m) and check in. Spend the evening enjoying village walks, apple orchards, and uninterrupted mountain views. Dinner and overnight stay in Sonaugi.
  • Day 6 – Sonaugi Hikes & Manali Optional Visit | Waterfalls & Temples
Explore Sonaugi’s surrounding trails with a Jana Waterfall hike followed by a Nashala Temple hike, offering panoramic views and village insights. A Manali day visit is possible for café time or shopping, while returning to Sonaugi for a quieter evening. This flexible day balances gentle activity with leisure. Overnight stay in Sonaugi.
