DAY 01 — ARRIVAL IN DIMAPUR → KOHIMA
Arrive at Dimapur Airport / Railway Station, where our representative will meet you and assist with your transfer to Kohima. The journey gradually climbs into the hills of Nagaland, leading you towards the state capital, Kohima. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and settle in for the evening. Overnight in Kohima. -
DAY 02 — KOHIMA → KISAMA | HORNBILL FESTIVAL
After breakfast, head towards Kisama Heritage Village, the vibrant venue of the Hornbill Festival. Spend the day immersed in Nagaland's biggest cultural celebration, where the traditions of its many Naga tribes come alive through folk performances, traditional music, colourful attire and local cuisine. Take your time exploring the festival grounds, visiting the various tribal stalls and picking up local souvenirs. Lunch will be at the festival, giving you the opportunity to sample flavours from Nagaland. Later, return to Kohima. Overnight in Kohima. -
DAY 03 — MOUNT PULIEBADZE HIKE
After breakfast, drive towards Mount Puliebadze and begin your hike towards the summit. The trail leads through the surrounding hills to a scenic viewpoint overlooking Kohima and the Nagaland landscape, with views extending towards Mount Japfu on a clear day. The hike takes approximately 2 hours, depending on your pace and fitness. After spending some time at the summit, descend and return towards Kohima. Overnight in Kohima. -
DAY 04 — KOHIMA → DZUKOU VALLEY | TREK & CAMP
Start early after breakfast and drive towards the trailhead of Dzukou Valley. From the base, begin your trek into the valley. The initial section involves a steep climb, gradually easing as you make your way deeper into the hills. The trek takes approximately 3–4 hours, depending on the pace of the group. Upon reaching Dzukou Valley, settle into your campsite and take in the expansive mountain landscape surrounding you. Tonight, experience the valley away from the city lights, surrounded by Nagaland's rugged wilderness. Overnight in tents at Dzukou Valley. -
DAY 05 — DZUKOU VALLEY → KOHIMA
Wake up to the mountain landscape of Dzukou Valley and enjoy breakfast at camp. Later, begin your descent towards the trailhead. Once you reach the base, board the local vehicle and drive back to Kohima. On arrival, check in to your hotel and unwind after your Dzukou adventure. Overnight in Kohima. -
DAY 06 — KOHIMA → DIMAPUR | DEPARTURE
After breakfast, depart from Kohima for Dimapur Airport / Railway Station. The journey takes approximately 3–4 hours, after which you can continue with your onward journey.

Our 8–14 December departure is planned around the festival period, giving us the opportunity to experience this cultural celebration along with Nagaland beyond Kisama.
3. What can I experience at the Hornbill Festival?
The festival is a wonderful introduction to Nagaland’s tribal diversity, with traditional performances, music, colourful attire, local Naga cuisine, handicrafts, handlooms and locally made artefacts. It is an opportunity to see many Naga communities come together in one vibrant celebration.
4. Will we experience Nagaland beyond the festival?
Absolutely. The journey goes beyond Kisama to experience local village life, mountain landscapes and the quieter side of Nagaland, before taking us to Mount Puliebadze and Dzukou Valley.
5. What are the Mount Puliebadze and Dzukou Valley experiences like?
Mount Puliebadze involves approximately 2 hours of walking, while reaching Dzukou Valley involves around 3–4 hours on foot from the trailhead. Dzukou also includes an overnight camping experience, allowing us to spend more time within its remarkable mountain landscape.
6. What kind of weather can I expect in December?
December brings cool winter conditions in Nagaland, with colder temperatures around Dzukou Valley, particularly overnight. Our team will share a detailed things-to-carry list and conduct a pre-departure orientation before the journey.
